Rather Choose To Be Zealous For God

Just like there’s a blessing for being zealous for the house of God, there is a consequence for doing the opposite or living in sin. I pray you rather choose to be zealous for God in Jesus name, Amen.

Numbers 25:1-13

1 While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women,
2 who invited them to the sacrifices to their gods. The people ate the sacrificial meal and bowed down before these gods.
3 So Israel yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor. And the Lord’s anger burned against them.
4 The Lord said to Moses, “Take all the leaders of these people, kill them and expose them in broad daylight before the Lord, so that the Lord’s fierce anger may turn away from Israel.”
5 So Moses said to Israel’s judges, “Each of you must put to death those of your people who have yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor.”
6 Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
7 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, saw this, he left the assembly, took a spear in his hand
8 and followed the Israelite into the tent. He drove the spear into both of them, right through the Israelite man and into the woman’s stomach. Then the plague against the Israelites was stopped;
9 but those who died in the plague numbered 24,000.
10 The Lord said to Moses, 11 “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal.
12 Therefore tell him I am making my covenant of peace with him.
13 He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, because he was zealous for the honor of his God and made atonement for the Israelites.”

It’s Best To Only Say What God Says

Are you going to be obedient like Balaam? Will you or can you be disciplined enough to say or do only that which God approves no matter the pressure mounted against you? Please, don’t let any man or woman compel you to go against God’s word or will.

Numbers 24:12-13
12 Balaam answered Balak, “Did I not tell the messengers you sent me, 13 ‘Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything of my own accord, good or bad, to go beyond the command of the Lord—and I must say only what the Lord says’?

No One Can Curse Us When God Has Blessed Us

Our Father and God has blessed us and He also will not allow anyone curse us no matter what. So as we are grafted into and/or adopted into the family of Israel, Abraham’s blessings, and his sons and descendants, are our blessings too.

Numbers 22:12
12 But God said to Balaam, “Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”

Numbers 23:23
23 No curse can touch Jacob; no magic has any power against Israel. For now it will be said of Jacob, ‘What wonders God has done for Israel!’

Do Not Compromise God’s Word For Anyone Or Anything

Blessings to you, how much would it take for you to compromise your faith or belief in God and His word? Would you go against God’s instructions or words? You are indeed blessed if you do not.

Numbers 22:18
18 But Balaam answered them, “Even if Balak gave me all the silver and gold in his palace, I could not do anything great or small to go beyond the command of the Lord my God.

Job 27:6
6 I’ll retain my righteousness and not compromise it; my conscience won’t rebuke me at any time.

Psalm 119:3
3 They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

Be The Priest God Has Called You To Be

As part of our priestly responsibilities, we are to be intercessors for the lives we are connected to and for those who truly serve and love God, their words have sway before God. Please use the privilege/blessing God has given you and pray for others.

Numbers 21:6-7
6 Then the Lord sent venomous snakes among them; they bit the people and many Israelites died.
7 The people came to Moses and said, “We sinned when we spoke against the Lord and against you. Pray that the Lord will take the snakes away from us.” So Moses prayed for the people.

James 5:16
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

God Expects Us To Honor Him By Displaying Holiness

Even though all men are equal in the sight of God, those of us who lead in the house of God (at home or church) are expected to always display holiness or set a godly example or else we lose rewards or suffer consequences.

Numbers 20:12-13
12 But the LORD said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them!”
13 This place was known as the waters of Meribah (which means “arguing”) because there the people of Israel argued with the LORD, and there he demonstrated his holiness among them.

Luke 12:47-48
47 And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.
48 But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.

Our God Has Made Maintaining Purity Easy For Us

Look at all the work it takes to remain undefiled or pure before God in Numbers 19. But now, all we need is to accept Christ our Lord Jesus as our Savior and we are holy and righteous forever. How kooooooooooool is that. So before you complain about that next little temptation you have to overcome, consider all the Israelites had to go through to stay pure and then all our Lord Christ Jesus suffered to obtain purity for us.

Hebrews 9:11-15a
11 So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands and is not part of this created world.
12 With his own blood—not the blood of goats and calves—he entered the Most Holy Place once for all time and secured our redemption forever.
13 Under the old system, the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow could cleanse people’s bodies from ceremonial impurity.
14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.
15 That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them

Everything God Has Belongs To Us

We are truly blessed when we consider the fact that everything that belongs to God is also ours if we are saved and in Christ. We will experience all God has for us via our close relationship to Him. Get closer to God.

Numbers 18:
14 “Everything in Israel that is specially set apart for the LORD also belongs to you.

Romans 4:13
13 Clearly, God’s promise to give the whole earth to Abraham and his descendants was based not on his obedience to God’s law, but on a right relationship with God that comes by faith.

Obey God’s Command, Then Teach Your Children To Do The Same

We are truly blessed to be called by God and made His priests and priestesses. We get our protection and provision directly from “The Source” (God). However, we are responsible for the work He has commanded us to do as well as for our children who we must introduce to the service of God. Please involve your children in praise, prayers, reading of God’s word, service to God and service to others.

Numbers 18:1-2
1 Then the LORD said to Aaron: “You, your sons, and your relatives from the tribe of Levi will be held responsible for any offenses related to the sanctuary. But you and your sons alone will be held responsible for violations connected with the priesthood.
2 “Bring your relatives of the tribe of Levi—your ancestral tribe—to assist you and your sons as you perform the sacred duties in front of the Tabernacle of the Covenant.

God Will Let Others Know You Belong To Him

God will use a sign/miracle to display clearly to others that we are His chosen and maybe He already has. It will hopefully, help remind them not to speak ill of you or fight against you and there by help prevent them from bringing the strong judgement of God against them.

Numbers 17:9-11
9 When Moses brought all the staffs out from the LORD’s presence, he showed them to the people. Each man claimed his own staff.
10 And the LORD said to Moses: “Place Aaron’s staff permanently before the Ark of the Covenant to serve as a warning to rebels. This should put an end to their complaints against me and prevent any further deaths.”
11 So Moses did as the LORD commanded him.
