But Wait, There’s More! Blessings

Good morning, previously I shared God’s blessings for us. But wait, there’s more

Leviticus 26:6-8

6 “ ‘I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country.

7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.

8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.

And The Blessings Continue

The reward for obedience (continued); ain’t God good?

Leviticus 26:1-5
1 “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.
2 “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
3 “‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands,
4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.
5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.

3 Years Of Abundance? Wow! Our God Is Great

It pays to obey and serve God. As we do, He provides us safety where we live, makes our ground for farming (jobs for modern day) fruitful, and then supplies us with such and abundance that we can live for 3 years without having to work. Can you imagine not toiling for 3 years and still have an abundance to feed and live on?

Leviticus 25:20-22
20 But you might ask, ‘What will we eat during the seventh year, since we are not allowed to plant or harvest crops that year?’
21 Be assured that I will send my blessing for you in the sixth year, so the land will produce a crop large enough for three years.
22 When you plant your fields in the eighth year, you will still be eating from the large crop of the sixth year. In fact, you will still be eating from that large crop when the new crop is harvested in the ninth year.

Still About Our Safety

More promise and blessing padded to the last verses I sent and these are tied to our obedience to God and love for others. Again, our God emphasizes on our safety in the land.

Leviticus 25:19
19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety.

We Are Safe In His Arms

It is not a coincidence that today’s verse comes to us. Today or the happenings in the world were not planned by us. And God, who knows all things, is reminding us not to fear or worry. A couple of weeks ago we received news that the plague was found in Flagstaff Arizona and then following this the first uncontrolled ebola incident was found in Dallas Texas. Following from our last verse, here’s what God has already said – believe it:

Leviticus 25:18b
18 …and you will live safely in the land.

Psalm 91:10
no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.

A Friday Prayer For You

Today is a prayer for you thanks to my wife:

Happy Friday! Thank God for His mercies that are new each day! May we be privileged to experience the glory of God today and always. May we remain humble, full of love, compassion and kind to others. May our light shine brighter and our saltiness season this bland world of ungodliness. May God’s favor, peace, grace, protection, blessings and wisdom abound us. Let us meditate on the words of God we’ve heard and read and then be prepared to live them out. May God give us grace and His ability and strength to do/obey His word in Jesus name, Amen.

~God’s Peace Be With You~

Love God Wholly And Your Neighbors Too

The second thing that applies to us is that we must carefully obey God. Aren’t these two things (Lev 25: 17 and 18a) similar to the new commands God gave us that is to love other and love Him? Doing these 2 things, you will see in the next couple of days the blessings they bring (no peeking ahead lol – just joshing with you as you are free to peek into God’s word).

Leviticus 25:18a
18“ ‘Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws…

Mark 12:29-30
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.e
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’f 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’g There is no commandment greater than these.”

Unburdened And Set Free

In reading Leviticus 22, I am humbled and grateful to God for blessing us with the gift of His Son. Our salvation is really huge as I cannot imagine having to remember half of all was required of a priest in those days. I sincerely praise God for removing all that labor and replacing it with liberty. Yet we have the nerve to complain and be dissatisfied?! Oh Lord please forgive us and help us realize how much or how many things you have saved us from. Help us to always have this in our foremost mind as we live each moment and as we go through trials. You have already lifted and removed the heaviest loads. Thank you Lord Jesus!!!

Leviticus 22:1-33

Galatians 5:13
13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

2 Corinthians 3:17
17… Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Our Lord Christ Jesus Became Defiled For Us

Previously and as we see in Leviticus 21, a priest could not defile himself for the sake of his family yet Christ our Lord Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world for us. At the same time and in the same chapter, no defiled or deformed person could come near to God. But, now because of Christ’s sacrifice, anyone saved by Christ can walk in at any time into God’s presence. Hallelujah to the Lord our God forever Amen.
