Our God Is Jehovah Jireh

A reminder that God is Jehovah Jireh!!!

I challenge you to fear/reverence God and obey Him and His word. And you will see that He will both fulfill His promises to you and bless you and our children. See the example Abraham set:

Genesis 22:12-18
12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”
15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time
16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,
18 and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”

God Hears Our Cry, He Will Answer

Does God not hear our cry when we are in pain? Does He not hear our cry for help? Even though it seems we are not blessed yet, we are because God is with us and He will be with us until we grow and all the blessings He promised have come.

Genesis 21:17-19
17 God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.
18 Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20 God was with the boy as he grew up.

Don’t Fret, God Is In Control

Dont fret because God is in control. Whatever He promised will come to pass. Sarah was 91 years old when she gave birth to Isaac. So how much more impossible is your situation?

Genesis 21:1-2
1 Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what he had promised.
2 Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.

Touch Not My Anointed, And Do My Prophets No Harm

God promised to protect His people and Genesis 20 shows one of the ways how does this. “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm”

Genesis 20:1-7
1 Now Abraham moved on from there into the region of the Negev and lived between Kadesh and Shur. For a while he stayed in Gerar,
2 and there Abraham said of his wife Sarah, “She is my sister.” Then Abimelek king of Gerar sent for Sarah and took her.
3 But God came to Abimelek in a dream one night and said to him, “You are as good as dead because of the woman you have taken; she is a married woman.”
4 Now Abimelek had not gone near her, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation? 5Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister,’ and didn’t she also say, ‘He is my brother’? I have done this with a clear conscience and clean hands.”
6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept you from sinning against me. That is why I did not let you touch her.
7 Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, you may be sure that you and all who belong to you will die.”

1 Chronicles 16:22
New International Version
“Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.”
New Living Translation
“Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”

We Are SAFE In God!!!

God remembers us and will never forget His covenant. He will protect us in the face of danger or destruction. So do not fear when you see or hear of destruction. If you are saved and living for God, you are already “SAFE”.

Genesis 19:29
29 So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.

Psalm 91:1-16
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the LORD:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
8Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

We Have An Audience With God

It is amazing to know how much audience we have with the Almighty God. Can you imagine that God would take the time to sit and listen to us? This is a blessing and a huge privilege. Let this conversation below between God and Abraham remind you of how much cloud www have with God.

22 The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord.
23 Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
24 What if there are fifty righteous people in the city? Will you really sweep it away and not spare the place for the sake of the fifty righteous people in it?
25 Far be it from you to do such a thing—to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. Far be it from you! Will not the Judge of all the earth do right?”
26 The Lord said, “If I find fifty righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake.”
27 Then Abraham spoke up again: “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,
28 what if the number of the righteous is five less than fifty? Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five people?” “If I find forty-five there,” he said, “I will not destroy it.”
29 Once again he spoke to him, “What if only forty are found there?” He said, “For the sake of forty, I will not do it.”
30 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak. What if only thirty can be found there?” He answered, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”
31 Abraham said, “Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, what if only twenty can be found there?”
He said, “For the sake of twenty, I will not destroy it.”
32 Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?”
He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.”
33 When the Lord had finished speaking with Abraham, he left, and Abraham returned home.

Will God Hide His Intentions From Us?

Will God hide His intentions from us? Are we not His chosen in and through Christ? Are we His Children? If so, apart from blessing us and keeping His promise, would He not also reveal His plans affecting our lives to us? God will reveal His plans about us to us if we walk closely with Him.

Genesis 18:16-19
16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way.
17 Then the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?
18 Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him.
19 For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what he has promised him.”

Jeremiah 33:2-3
2 “This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name:
3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Do You Doubt God’s Promise Too? Please Don’t

Are you doubtful that God will fulfill His promise and bless you? Does the blessing you are looking and waiting for seem so impossible? Please know this that our God is not man that lies. If He has said it, He will surely bring it to pass.

Genesis 18:13-14
13 Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’
14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Mark 9:23
23 “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

God Blesses Our Wives And Mothers

The blessings and promises God made are sometimes gender specific as we see in Sarah’s life. God specifically promised her, and I believe this applies to all women living holy in Christ Jesus, that she would give birth to greatness. In short, our children would be great and their children great too. Your greatness will redefine you in the eyes of many many people.

Genesis 17:15-16
15 God also said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah.
16 I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

Worship God And Watch Him Bless You

God is soooooooooooooooooooo AWESOME!!! As we bow or yield to worship Him, He showers us with blessings and confirmations of promises He gave. Abraham’s example is why he is our Father of faith. Worship God and watch Him work wonders!!!

Genesis 17:3-8
3 Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
4 “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
5 No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
6 I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
7 I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
8 The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”
