We Remember You!!!

Today we want to remember all the men and women who died to ensure our safety, protection, and the continuation of our way of life. I pray blessings and sweet memories for all who have lost loved ones to this cause. Most of all, PRAISE and HONOR to the one and only Lamb of God who died for our eternal security and everlasting life – All Hail King Jesus now and forever, Amen. He is the one that said, “Do this in memory of me,” in reference to taking communion. But, what if we did all things in memory of Him?

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Possessing Your Land

Does the covenant God made with Abram still apply to us today? In so many ways yes. The lands of the tribes of people God promised to give Abram are also ours via our adoption into the family of God. More so, He is still in the land giving business and will give us lands in our own geographic areas if we trust and obey God. Live for God, love all men and be certain that your land (or lands) will come!!!

Genesis 15:17-21
17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.
18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates—
19 the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,
20 Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,
21 Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”

Some Promises Are Packaged With Pain

Did the Lord fulfill the promise below? For your weekend assignment, identify the range of chapters in the Bible that shows the fulfillment of the promise below. Is a promise always sweet and glorious? My opinion is no by looking at what God said to Abram below. So Dont lose hope or stay depressed when trials and persecution comes since its all part of the promise that get you to the other side. Just like pregnancy (fruit of the womb) and child birth (being fruitful and multiplying) are promises, doesn’t it come with pain?

Genesis 15:13-16
13 Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.
14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.
15 You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.
16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”

God Is Our Shield And Great Reward

Our God always reminds us that He will protect us and fulfill His promise to us to reward us. Do you truly and really believe Him?

He says in Genesis 15:1
1 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:
“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward. ”

Is this declaration from God true? Do you believe His words?

Be Careful, YOU Can Curse Or Bless

Genesis 12:3
3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

Here is where we, as children of God, have to be careful. Because, as this promise reveals, we could curse a person and they’ll be cursed and at the same time if we bless them they get blessed.

Please pause, carefully think through what you are about to say before you speak blessings or curses to those in your lives. After all, there is power in the tongue of a child of God.

Proverbs 18:21
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

God Will Make You Famous If You Walk With Him

Genesis 12:2
2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.

Isn’t God amazing? This verse’s promise spells out that we would be great, even famous (known and sought after by many), and then be able to bless others we meet in this life. Isn’t that exciting to you? Can you imagine you, a real star and a godly role model for others to learn from and depend on. Our God has a great legacy for us and it’s ours only if we walk the narrow and sacred path of God. Dont compromise, live above reproach, love like God does, sacrifice for others and put them above you and watch and see God fulfill this verse in your life.

Leave The Sinful Old Behind, Start Anew In Me

Genesis 12:1
1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

The promise is given, but only the worthy will obtain it, keep it and enjoy it. Gen 12:1 spells out the first requirement to obtaining this promise. In our day and time, and in so many words, you have to separate yourself from the old and come into the new. We can only do this now through Christ Our Lord Jesus since no one can be worthy of this promise except in and through Him. Yes this does require your effort and sacrifice, leaving behind your old and fleshly ways and subscribe to the new way in and through Christ. There is no other way of experiencing this guaranteed blessing so if you really want it, stay in Christ and live for Him.

Abraham’s Blessings Are Mine Too

This is one of the grandest of all the promises we received outside of the coming of our Lord The Christ Jesus. This promise was and is so key because it ties us to the heritage of the Jews and the Legacy once prepared for only them. Believing in this promise made this Patriarch the Father of faith. And his faith in what he could only imagine challenges me, and I hope you too, to believe in God even though some things we hope for are right now invisible. After all, we are called to live by faith and not by sight. We will pause and ponder on this verse and the promise it reveals for the rest of this week.

Genesis 12:1-3
1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.
2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.
3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

The Power Of Unity

Looking for more promises from God, I ran across this verse which always astounds me. Reading it for face value, was God speaking these words to Christians?

” “Look!” He said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them…”

I would tag this verse, “The power of unity or of being united.” Could what God said in that verse be possible if only 2 stand united? My belief is that it does not matter the number of individuals who stand together in unity, but as long as they stand united nothing will be impossible for them. Herein lies the power a husband and wife have if they lived united in God.

Matthew 18:19-20
19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Our Rainbow Promise – God Truly Loves Us

God gave us a reassuring promise right after the floods Noah and his family escaped abated. God gave Noah and his family hope for the future with this promise and they in turn had faith in God and moved forward with living their lives for God. This promise still stands today, praise God!!!, so have no fear. Instead have faith and hope in God that He will always protect and make provision for us.

Genesis 8:20-22
20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and there he sacrificed as burnt offerings the animals and birds that had been approved for that purpose.
21 And the LORD was pleased with the aroma of the sacrifice and said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of the human race, even though everything they think or imagine is bent toward evil from childhood. I will never again destroy all living things.
22 As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”

Genesis 9:12-17
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
