Leaving The Past & Woes Behind, Starting A Fresh Walk With God

So to summarize, here is my own idea of how you can get back on track with walking with the Lord after a fall. This is not cut in stone and can be added to or beefed up with more scriptures to suit you. I’m just saying that this pattern has worked for me in the 15+ years of striving to live for God.

So to leave the burdens of sin and the past behind and restart your walk with God, here’s my list of what you do:
1. Acknowledge your sins
2. Ask for forgiveness from God
3. Sit in the presence of God to get renewed/re-energized via Bible reading, praise and sing to God, pray for you and others
4. Decide to choose to do good instead of evil every chance you get.
5. Stay the course by obeying the 2 most important commands our Lord Jesus gave us.

May God give you grace, strength and wisdom to seek to do the things that please Him in Jesus name, Amen. After all, He has been so forgiving and gracious to us for all of our lives.

Last Step, Stay The Course

Leaving the burdens of the past may be rigorous, but it is very necessary. We cannot allow past pains or mistakes weigh us down or guilt us from moving ahead in Our walk with God. So far, we have acknowledged our sins, asked for forgiveness, sat in the presence of God to get renewed/re-energized, and then decided to choose to do good instead of evil.

What next? Stay the course! “How?” you might ask. Simple, by obeying the 2 most important commands our Lord Jesus gave:

Mark 12:29-31 (New Living Translation)
Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

Take The Next Step, Stop Your Old Way and Start Your New Walk

We have acknowledged our faults and asked God for forgiveness, we then intentionally entered His presence and throne room to praise and worship Him and in the same vein got renewed and re-energized (remember here is where you want to live; in His presence) and re-filled with His Holy Spirit and His power. Next, you have to decide to stop doing wrong/evil and replace those old evil ways with good; your new walk has to show fruits of your change or repentance.

Matthew 3:8
(NIV)
8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
(NLT)
8 Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.

Psalm 34:12-14
12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

Acts 10:38
38 New Living Translation
And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Drawing Near To God, Drops Off The Burdens In Life

We are drawing closer to God so the past, all weights or burdens can fall off. We only want to enjoy and bask in His Holy presence where love n peace is abundant and ever flowing. When you’ve entered His presence do your best to stay/live right there.

Hebrews 10:22
(New Living Translation)
22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

The Old Is Gone, Let It Go. “How Do I Do This?,” You Ask.

The Old Is Gone, Let It Go. “How Do I Do This?,” you ask.

The series of scriptures I will share with you will reveal nuggets to help you “Draw nearer to God” which in turn cuts loose any weights or baggage you have from the past. At the end of this week we will outline practical steps to follow. For now read, memorize, meditate and familiarize yourself with the verses you receive:

1 Peter 5:5-11
5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Out With The Old, In With The New

Out with the old, and in with the new.

We’ve made mistakes, omitted many good things, and committed some heinous acts if put out from secret to public could have us in a shameful fetus position. There were some good things we did do. However, all of these are gone, in the past, untouchable as they should be.

Choose today to walk anew in the Spirit, allowing God to lead you afresh this year where we failed to follow last year. Don’t bring old tricks and fleshly ideas that failed you into this New Year. Leave them behind and look for new orders from The Holy Spirit and you will not miss your new blessings in Jesus name, Amen.

Mark 2:22
(New International Version)
22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.”

Behold!!! God Is Making All Things New Revelation 21:5

Happy New Year!!!

May God’s favor abound you in all that you do!  “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen”. Isaiah 43:18-20

May this New Year bring new grace, new blessings, new peace, new favor, new roadways in wildernesses, new rivers in deserts, and new open doors for you and your family. Indeed it will be a year of many “New things” from God I pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Revelation 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Let The Words Of My Mouth

Picking up from where we left off, “The Words We Speak,” how well have you done with controlling the words from your mouth? Reflect back a little and ask yourself this question, “Has there been any change in my life since I started taking charge of the words I speak?”

Hey now no judging here! Please know we all make mistakes, and we stumble and fall. So if you started on a good path with speaking with God in mind and you fell off the wagon, pick yourself back up, repent and start fresh from where you are. YOU ARE FORGIVEN!!! Turn to GOD, accept HIS Son Our Lord Jesus (if you have not), and speak aloud to yourself so the whole world hears it loud and clear, “I Am Saved.”

Declare and proclaim the truth of your new birth in Christ to everyone you meet. Be proud of your new adopted family with GOD Himself being your new Father. Imagine it, the creator of all the galaxies is now your “Daddy” because you believed and confessed (spoke) with your mouth that His Son Jesus The Christ is your Lord and Savior. Yes, your confession changes things, it changes you!

Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

Let’s Take A Moment To Think

We have been reading so far that it is possible to make impossible things happen just through words and prayers. But there’s more to it than just that. Not everyone can simply ask or make a request in prayer and receive a result or an answer from God. There are certain prerequisite conditions that must be met to stop time like Joshua did or cause rain to fall like Elijah.

First, you must have a solid and real relationship with God. The only way to do this is by accepting Jesus The Christ as your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and believing that God raises Him from the dead, you will be saved).

Then once saved, you have to live in obedience to God’s words showing to the world around you that you are living a changed life and showing fruits of a new life in God through Christ Jesus your new Lord and Savior. This would definitely including loving your neighbors and having it in your heart to serve them as God leads you to. (Mark 16:15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.]])

Believe me, all of this is possible and more!

Prayer Asking God For Help

Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy toward me, And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.
Psalm 86:11-13
