New Series – The Words We Speak…

For Elijah, he was fed with Divine supplies 3 times by ravens, by a widow, and by an angel. Furthermore, he was able to ask/pray for Drought in 1 Kings 17:1-: James 5:17, Meal and oil multiplied 1 Kings 17:14, a Child to be restored to life 1 Kings 17:22, a Sacrifice to be consumed by fire 1 Kings 18:38, Captains and men to be slain by fire 2 Kings 1:10, Rain brought 1 Kings 18:41, Water of Jordan divided 2 Kings 2:8

In the midst of all of these, Elijah prayed regularly and fervently to God which means to me he spoke and received words from God helping him to direct his life and actions. So, in essence, he had a great communicative relationship with our Father and God.

Do you communicate to God? Could you honestly say that you listen for HIS words and promptings to direct your life and actions? It requires great discipline an commitment to walk in Elijah’s shoes. But, it is very possible to accomplish what he did and more even in this now and here where we are.

Try living like Elijah and see.

New Series – The Words We Speak…

…At that time Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he (Joshua) said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies…

The sun stood still and the moon stopped?!!! Are you telling me that Joshua commanded the very elements God made and they obeyed?!!! Are you saying he stopped time?!!!

Yes!!! Yes!!! and Yes!!! is what I totally believe. God, our Father, honored the words/request/prayer of a man who was in total obedience to the call on his life. Joshua obeyed God’s call to him which was to lead the children of Israel into the promised land that God promised them (Canaan) after Moses died. And because Joshua honored God, God honored Him by granting his request to stop time (Wow! Just like a scene from a sci-fi movie, but in this case it really happened).

How can we now duplicate Joshua’s life? Is it possible to have such a relationship with The God and Controller of the universe and its elements? I think so and i challenge you to give it a shot. Please read the verses of scripture where this was culled from (Joshua 10:1-21):

Jos 10:1 As soon as Adoni-zedek, king of Jerusalem, heard how Joshua had captured Ai and had devoted it to destruction, doing to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were among them, 2 he feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, like one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were warriors. 3 So Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, to Piram king of Jarmuth, to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying, 4 “Come up to me and help me, and let us strike Gibeon. For it has made peace with Joshua and with the people of Israel.” 5 Then the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered their forces and went up with all their armies and encamped against Gibeon and made war against it. 6 And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, saying, “Do not relax your hand from your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us and help us, for all the kings of the Amorites who dwell in the hill country are gathered against us.” 7 So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor. 8 And the LORD said to Joshua, “Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hands. Not a man of them shall stand before you.” 9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having marched up all night from Gilgal. 10 And the LORD threw them into a panic before Israel, who struck them with a great blow at Gibeon and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon and struck them as far as Azekah and Makkedah. 11 And as they fled before Israel, while they were going down the ascent of Beth-horon, the LORD threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword. 12 At that time Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in the midst of heaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day. 14 There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD heeded the voice of a man, for the LORD fought for Israel. 15 so Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp at Gilgal. 16 These five kings fled and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah. 17 And it was told to Joshua, “The five kings have been found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.” 18 And Joshua said, “Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave and set men by it to guard them, 19 but do not stay there yourselves. Pursue your enemies; attack their rear guard. Do not let them enter their cities, for the LORD your God has given them into your hand.” 20 When Joshua and the sons of Israel had finished striking them with a great blow until they were wiped out, and when the remnant that remained of them had entered into the fortified cities, 21 then all the people returned safe to Joshua in the camp at Makkedah. Not a man moved his tongue against any of the people of Israel.

New Series – The Words We Speak…

Consider Moses and the many miracles that God performed through him. See below a list of some of what he did with the assistance of his brother Aaron. How was he able to speak and declare these things before Pharaoh or perform these things and then watch these things come to pass?

1. Aaron’s rod changed into a serpent (Ex. 7:10-12)
The ten plagues of Egypt (Ex. 7:20-12:30)
1. Waters become blood
2. Frogs
3. Lice
4. Flies
5. Murrain or Pestilence
6. Boils
7. Thunder and hail
8. Locusts
9. Darkness
10. Death of the first-born

Other Miracles Done by Moses and/or Aaron
1. Red Sea divided; Israel passes through (See: Passage of Red Sea) (Ex. 14:21-31)
2. Waters of Marah sweetened (Ex. 15:23-25)
3. Manna sent daily, except on Sabbath (Ex. 16:14-35)
4. Water from the rock at Rephidim (Ex. 17:5-7)
5. Nadab and Abihu consumed for offering “strange fire” (Lev. 10:1, 2)
6. Some of the people consumed by fire at Taberah (Num. 11:1-3)
7. The earth opens and swallows up Korah and his company. (Num. 16:32-34)
8. Fire at Kadesh (Num. 16:35-45)
9. Plague at Kadesh (Num. 16:46-50)
10. Aaron’s rod budding at Kadesh (Num. 17:8)
11. Water from the rock, smitten twice by Moses, desert of Zin (Num. 20:7-11)
12. The brazen serpent in the desert of Zin (Num. 21:8-9)

How was Moses able to confidently speak to Pharaoh and declare the coming of plagues he himself had never witnessed or observed in his own life? Remember at this time Moses was 80 or more years and had never seen the magnitude of plague events that he had described would happen to Pharoah and the Egyptians.

I can assume that he was able to “speak these things…(Romans 4:17) because of the trust and faith he had in GOD developed through the relationship he had nurtured with GOD in the desert where he first saw the burning bush unconsumed (Exodus 3:3).

Where is your trust and confidence? Do you have a relationship with God? Is your relationship with God priority #1 in your life? How confidently would we speak if we knew that our God Almighty and the host of heaven were backing us up and would execute “The Words We Speak”?

New Series – The Words We Speak…

1 Samuel 3:19 “And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.”

Imagine this being said about you. Would you like for this to be some of the legacy you leave behind? What would we need to do or how must we live so that our GOD Almighty (The Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent One) would make it HIS business to allow everything we say come to pass “EVERY TIME”? How did Samuel live his life and how did he speak?

1 Samuel 7:3 Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, “If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the LORD, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.”

As we see in the verse above, Samuel not only lived right in dedication to God he also encouraged others to do the same faithfully. He never wavered from living righteously glorifying God with his life. So, I’m thinking, because he honored God and spoke on HIS behalf, God also honored him and upheld all of his (Samuel’s) own spoken words.

May God help us live right, encourage others to do the same and honor HIM with our lives in jesus name, Amen. We can only begin to imagine what HE would do in turn to honor us.

New Series – The Words We Speak…

Genesis 11:1 Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. 2 And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. 6 And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the LORD dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.

So imagine the Almighty God say, “And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” What?!!! Rewind “And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” in this case what they proposed was against God’s will and did not bring HIM glory. What if what you proposed was and/or is God’s will and will bring HIM glory? Would what you propose, plan, speak, pray not be allowed by GOD to come to pass?…

New Series – The Words We Speak…

Think on this!

Adam had dominion over everything GOD placed in the earth before him. In my opinion, Adam named all animals and probably plants that existed at the time following his being created by GOD. So how did he name the animals and plants? He spoke out of his mouth words that he felt identified with the specific animal or plant he beheld. I want to think there was no rush to this at all, afterall Adam (at the time) had eternity to do this (there were no time constraints whatsoever). So he called/spoke/named the things that were never named into existence. GOD made Adam in HIS image and likeness and gave Adam the command to rule and reign the earth and to take dominion over it. So since Adam was in union with God (being like God and untainted in mind and thoughts as well as having similar desires), he was able to speak, decree, call things forth and they were established. Please read the following verses:

Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth…(KJV)

Gen 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field…(KJV)

Are we in union with God? Are our desires and motives in line with HIS? Could we call forth, bring to pass, implement, establish new things by defining/naming the things we see or don’t see around us?

New Series – The Words We Speak…

So imagine the possibilities…

Mark 9:23 And Jesus said to him, “‘If you can’! All things are possible for one who believes.” so what is possible? What are the things. We can believe for and in love speak, pray or request from God? Before we answer these, please read these words of God and HIS promise to us:

Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Only Believe, in Christ Jesus, in God, and in HIS promises. Then ask, speak, pray and wait in expectation for results.

New Series – The Words We Speak…

If we will be careful with our words, and if our intentions and motives align with our Father God’s, and if our hearts desire our founded on love and for caring for others, would the Almighty GOD say no to what we ask for? Would HE resist HIS own will from being done; the very one that desires for HIS kingdom to come to earth and for HIS will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven? Think on this for a little bit!

So if ye say yea to what’s above, why don’t you choose to speak “those things that be not as though they are?” I will encourage you to do so. Why?!! Please read the following verses:

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
1John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

More to come…
